NEW ORLEANS - A strong recruiting class and an impressive finish at the season's opening meet has catapulted the Nicholls State University women's cross country team to their first appearance in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association's Top 15 South Central Region rankings, the governing body announced from their New Orleans office on Monday.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Goodman twins posted back-to-back top five finishes, and Lauren Jones finished in the top ten to lead the women's squad to a runner-up finish. Meanwhile, on the men's side, freshman Jordan Reed's tenth-place finish led the way as the Nicholls State University men's and women's cross country teams finished fourth and second, respectively at the 29th Annual Southern Miss Invitational.

THIBODAUX – Nicholls head men’s cross country coach Scott Williamson announced Friday morning that Phillip Culotta, Joby Fryou, Brandon Kotzur and Ivan Vasquez have signed National Letters of Intent to run for the Colonels this fall. Jacob Turnipseed will also join the cross country team next season
