2024 TOP STORIES: Brady Mullen Crushes 3200m State Record!

LHSAA'S ADAM MCDOWELL CONGRATULATIONS BRADY MULLEN ON HIS HISTORIC 3200m!

Do you remember where you were when Jesuit's Brady Mullen demolished the LHSAA Class 5A State Outdoor Championship composite record in the 3200m? I don't mean "I was there." I mean exactly where you were.

I was standing just outside of the Bernie Moore Stadium track on the southwest end of the stadium when Mullen came through the line with a time of 8:48, 18 seconds faster than Catholic's Robby Leblanc, who ran a 9:06 28 years ago. I was about to interview Baton Rough High's Lucy Thomas after winning her first state championship in the Class 5A girls 3200m, but the roar of the crowd and the iconic voice of Mike Boyer calling the historic race would not allow the interview.
