2024 TOP STORIES! Ursula Harris Named USTFCAA COTY!

No team in Louisiana was as dominant in 2024 as the Scotlandville Hornets. And while they had some of the best athletes the sport of the high school track and field has ever seen, they have some amazing coaches--including girls' head coach Ursula Harris, who made history in 2024 by becoming on the second coach in Louisiana history to win USTFCCA's National Coach of the Year.

Harris posted the following on social media as she went to the USTFCCA's National Convention in Orlando, Florida to be formally recognized by the organization.

"Warning long post!!!

First, I thank GOD for giving me this opportunity to represent not only the state of Louisiana but Scotlandville Magnet High. I will be recognized as USTFFCA's National Girls Track and Field Coach of the Year. This is truly an honor. We are being recognized as one of the NATION's best. I did say "we" because I could never say I did this on my own. We are the best coaches in Louisiana, in my opinion. I love and appreciate you all for your dedication, hard work and love for the sport and the athletes: Coach DJ Duke Pitcher, Coach Whit Allen Whitaker, my dog, Coach Terry Dorsey, Coach Dilly Louisiana Robert, Coach Calvin Williams, Coach Muhammad, Coach D and Coach Jordan!!! My family who always have my back!! And last but definitely not least, the track team, YOU DID IT!!! We are family!!! I will represent us well!!
