If you ask legendary Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame Coach Claney Duplechin about top stories in 2024, he will tell you that Parkview Baptist's Aiden Monistere breaking the Highland Road Park course record of 14:25.70 set by St. Paul's Eric Coston in 2017 is one of the highlights of 2024.
We agree.
Monistere didn't just break the record at Louisiana's most popular XC course. He crushed it at the St. Joseph's Invitational in early October with a time of 14:12.
Monistere's cross country season began at the Southern Showcase where he finished as the runner-up to Luke Anderson. In the video, the MileSplit commentator did not know who Monistere was.

That was not a problem in his first race on Louisiana soil at the St. Joseph's Invitational, where Monistere's mother, Mandi Monistere, MileSplit LA's chief videographer, captured her son's performance.
