Airline's Jeremiah Boudreaux shocked everyone in 2024. Including himself.

When MileSplit LA saw Boudreaux at the LSU Last Chance Qualifier, we had to do a double take. How can kid who suffered a broken leg in a high school football game in late October be high jumping at the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse less than four months later?

Boudreaux went into the 2024 season as the No. 3 returner in the state in the high jump with a best of 6-5.25 in the 2023 indoor season. Miraculously, he picked up where he left off jumping the same height in his 2024 opener.

As Boudreaux continued to impress on the high jump apron during the outdoor season, it was the 300m hurdles where the Viking really made a name for himself.

Only 21 runners in Louisiana history have run sub 38 in the 300 hurdles. Boudreaux accomplished the feat four times during the 2024 high school season starting with his 37.60 at the L.J. "Hoss" Garrett Relays in Ruston.

However, it was his 36.76 at the LHSAA Class 5A State Outdoor Championship which dropped everyone's jaw...including his own. It's the No. 2 all-time 300m hurdle performance in Louisiana history behind only Ouachita's Kashie Crockett, who also had his personal record of 36.42 at the LHSAA Class 5A State Outdoor Championship in 2021.

Boudreaux graduated from Airline in May and is now preparing for his first year of collegiate track and field at the University of Central Arkansas. We wish him all the best and thank him for making 2024 a year to remember in Louisiana high school track and field.
