SCOTLANDVILLE BOYS AND GIRLS GATHER AT THE PODIUM AFTER THE 2024 STATE INDOOR SWEEP!

Every article in this series has focused mostly on performances of individual athletes. That or coaches. Today, we break that trend as we focus on team accomplishments. No team-or program-in Louisiana was better than Scotlandville Magnet High School.

The Hornets swept not only the LHSAA Division I State Indoor Championships, but also followed that up by doing the same thing at the LHSAA Class 5A State Outdoor Championships.

It was the perfect storm. A handful of seemingly once-in-a-lifetime talent coupled with and incredible award-winning coaches.

However, it takes more than just incredible athletes and great coaches. It usually takes great work ethic on the part of the athletes to accomplish the team goals. Work ethic is a staple of the Scotlandville program.

On the boys side, the Hornets were led by Broderick Davis, Ferzell Shepard, and Corinthian Walker. On the girls side, the Hornets had legendary talents Makeriah Harris and Sade Gray.

2025 will be a different year for the Hornets as only Shepard returns from the handful of talent listed above. Will they be able to stay on top? We will soon find out.
