This past week was my first full week in over a month of practice. I’ve been out dealing with a tweaked hamstring and problems in both my knees. My doctor said it is due to me being flat footed, which causes the impact when I run to go directly to my knees. Overall it was a good week of practice I got some speed work in and was about to build my base back up to where I knew I would be able to run without dying.

Pineville\'s Alan Sticker takes the LSU Classic Title in the Boy\'s 2 mile recording an impressive early mark of 9:52 through two miles while Academy of Sacred Heart\'s Simone Domingue finishes second with a time of 11:58 recording a 22 second PR on her 17th birthday.

In Focus: LSU\'s Patrick Gavin Overcoming the Odds

As a prep, Tiger distance runner Patrick Gavin was no stranger to success. A member of the St. Paul\'s High School cross country team in Covington, Gavin helped the Wolves to four consecutive Louisiana 5A state titles, while claiming top individual honors during both his junior and senior seasons. Riding the coattails of a successful high school campaign, Gavin was looking forward to continuing his career at the University of Georgia after graduation.

Starting at 3:55 PM today at Bernie Moore Stadium - The best collegiate milers in the state will be toeing the line for what seems to be a very stacked race. With 7-8 runners runners who have run 4:12 or faster including three sub 4:08 runners.
