NORTHWOOD'S 4X100m RELAY TEAM IS RANKED NO. 3 IN LOUISIANA
The Northwood Falcons 4x100m won the 2024 LHSAA State Outdoor Championship. Instead of resting on their laurels, the Falcons went back to their lab in Blanchard, Louisiana where Coach Austin Brown had employed drones and GPS gadgets which give his squad all of the information to be successful.
Northwood was 2-0 after the first two weeks of the season before a mishap early in the race at the Airline Viking Invitational cost the Falcons their winning streak.
Currently, Northwood (42.26) ranks No. 3 in Louisiana. Only 5A schools Scotlandville (41.68) and Acadiana (41.80) have run faster.
No matter what Northwood does this year, which will probably be to rewrite the Northwood record books for the 4x100m, you can expect them to surpass it next year when they will be seniors. That's right. All four members of the team are underclassmen.
