DIVISION II BOYS:
Lake Charles College Prep comes to mind when thinking about that coveted team trophy. The strength of this team's relays truly makes the difference, not to mention the two individuals that are doubling in the 400m and 800m. Their greatest competition is from University Lab which might be able to change the course of what happens, depending on how well the distance duo in the 3200m fare; however, the same can be said with Lake Charles and their chance to take home two relay golds in both the 4x400m and 4x200m.
DIVISION II BOYS TRACK MVP:
There has never been a closer call to have to be made in my entire writing career than this matchup right here. The two favorites that could take the cake for this title look to be Aiden Monistere of Parkview Baptist and Jackson Burney of Calvary Baptist. Both of these men recorded their best qualifying marks for all three events on the same day and from the same meet! The win for the most amount of points garnered on any day could vary greatly between these two, however, to remain objective, when they did race each other the final tally was 2-1 in favor of Monistere. This does not decide anything final, but it does lean toward giving Monistere the advantage.
DIVISION II BOYS FIELD MVP:
Cade Dauzat of Oakdale High School is a formidable candidate for this position. He is currently ranked second in both the long and triple jump and looks to be deadset on securing a podium finish in both events. Though his ability to take gold in the long jump is thwarted by Tristan Godley of Westlake, the possibility for a gold medal finish in the triple jump is still available. Worst comes to worst, Dauzat leaves with 12 points to his name and still secures this award.
