CAMREN HARDY (5) AND KROSSE JOHNSON (4) ARE AT THE TOP OF 400m RANKINGS
The rankings for the top 150 returning Louisiana high school boys in the 400m is loaded with sprint talent. However, only three sprinters ran sub 50 during the 2023 indoor season.
Edna Karr's Camren Hardy and John Curtis' King Taylor actually tied for the lead in the rankings with a time of 49.38. Not only did they have the same time, they had the same time in the same race.
Meet officials at the LSU Last Chance Qualifier had their work cut out for them as they tried to to pick a winner. In the end, Hardy was given the nod, but both athletes were credited with the state's leading time for returners.
Not far behind Hardy and Taylor in the rankings is Scotlandville's Ferzell Shepard, who made a statement during the indoor statement with his runner-up performance at the LHSAA D1 State Indoor Meet. Shepard's 49.95 at the meet is No.3 in the rankings for top returners in the 400m.
