SALUTE TO SENIORS! Northside's Quincy Simon!

NORTHSIDE'S QUINCY SIMON HEADS FOR A '23 LHSAA CLASS 4A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!

It's Sunday, so that means we select a senior to honor. This week, we shine the light on Northside's Quincy Simon

MileSplit LA: What was your most memorable moment in track and field?

Quincy: My most memorable moment was the 2022 outdoor season. I became a 4A state champion in the 400m and 200m, and my team of eight girls placed 2nd overall at state!

MileSplitLA: What was your greatest accomplishment?

Quincy: My greatest accomplishment is being a 2x 4A state champion in the 400, a 3x 4A state champion as anchor leg on 4x4, Signing to the University of Louisiana to Continue my Track Career 

MileSplit LA: What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

Quincy: My most difficult Obstacle I had to overcome is my mental, physical and emotional state over my four years from Covid, passing of loved ones, slight injuries, and self doubt. I overcame those obstacles by making it my motivation to keep going and Help me create a reason for Why I Run Track.

MileSplitLA: What will you miss the most?

Quincy: I will miss all the fun bus rides to track meets, having fun at track meets and practices, team bonding, and winning medals and trophies with my wonderful teammates.

MileSplitLA: What advice would you give the younger athletes?

Quincy: Believe in yourself and follow your dreams. If you want to be great don't be afraid to do a little extra! Don't let anyone tell you you can't do something. Prove them wrong!

MileSplitLA: What are your post-high school or college plans?

Quincy: My plans for college is to attend the University Of Louisiana at Lafayette on a Full Scholarship, I will be  majoring in Bioengineering with a minor in Biomedical Engineering and continuing my Track career as a member of the Ragin Cajun Track and Field Team.

MileSplitLA: Who would you like to say "thank you" to?

Quincy: I would like to say thank you to God, my family and friends, Coaches and also teammates for supporting me in my high school career and believing in me over my four years in high school and soon while I'm in college. I love y'all!
