Details

1

Jesuit

Episcopal Round Table Run1Though the team did race, it was solely their JV squad. The varsity squad is set to premiere at the Southern Showcase on Sept. 17.
2

Brother Martin

Episcopal Round Table Run

2The same goes with Brother Martin as with Jesuit. The program let its JV squad loose and took home an 8th place finish
3

Ruston

The Opener3
4

Catholic High

Episcopal Round Table Run

4The Grizzlies took home the team title with an impressive 47-second split and 16:26 average between its top five runners. Matthew Maynard and David Lemann led the charge with a power 1-2 punch.
5

Parkway High School

The Border Dash5The Panthers took home gold from their home meet. They managed to place all of their scorers in the top ten while Gabriel Falting aided Andrew Kent to a massive PR. Outside of these top two finishers, Parkway looks to have a very consistent string of runners following from 3-7
6

Parkview Baptist

Episcopal Round Table Run

7Parkview Baptist impressed by taking second at Episcopal's Round Table Run, finishing right behind Catholic High, albeit with a great difference in the team score. The team had one of the best 1-5 splits at the meet with an impressive 44 seconds. This was another reassuring weekend for them, as it cements them even more so as one of the best in the state.
7

Teurlings Catholic

Gulf Coast Stampede8Teurlings traveled to Pensacola, FL to compete at the Gulf Coast Stampede and managed to take a very respectable 6th place team finish. The team had a set of three runners as its lead pack with a loose following of two more to close out a very respectable top five.
8

Central Lafourche

Episcopal Round Table Run

15This was a HUGE weekend for the Trojans, as they toppled many huge names in the running community. The team's top four runners had only a separation of 10 seconds and closed out with their fifth runner for a final 1-5 split of 57 seconds. The team showed promise during the preseason and they are demonstrating it now.
9

Episcopal

Episcopal Round Table Run

10The Knights found themselves in 4th place at their home meet and finally found a strong low-stick that they desperately needed with Sacha Dernoncourt. Other runners filled out the remainder of the top five all within the range of 17-minutes.
10

St. Michael

Episcopal Round Table Run

6St. Michael had a slew of season bests at this meet, but other schools just had a better day than this program. The team still managed to take home a 5th-place finish as a team and even land its top runner in the top ten.
11

Walker

Episcopal Round Table Run

13Walker finished just behind St. Michael but delivered a better 1-2 finish from its top two athletes. What gave other teams an advantage over this program was the gap between its runners. The distance between them proved too great today, but that does not take away the magnitude of how they performed. The team took home 6th place and beat out other well-known teams, as well as landing a top ten finish with Jacob Kennedy.
12

Episcopal of Acadiana

Gulf Coast Stampede

11Acadiana also fared well in Pensacola. They finished 13th in a loaded field of teams from Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi. The team's top two finishers crossed the line side-by-side and others on the team followed suit with that pattern. Although they ran well, the gap between their runners is still great.
13

Zachary

Episcopal Round Table Run

14The Broncos took home 9th despite missing their greatest weapon, at least on paper, Rhen Langley. Dillon Moree led the charge with Damien Sprouse not far behind. This team is capable it just needs guidance for its younger athletes, as well as a return of Langley. Once that happens, this will be a very different team.
14

University Lab School

Episcopal Round Table Run

20University Lab continues to climb the ranks despite missing John Hall Hays. The team took 12th at the meet, but this is to be expected when the team lacks strong depth and its top runner goes missing. Putting that to the side, the team ran well with Blayton Bernard leading the pack and its third and fourth runners working close together.
15

Benton

The Border Dash

NRAn underrated team entered the fold with Benton. The team made its debut out of state last week and the results were missed. They appeared this weekend and made it clear that they deserve a spot on these rankings. This is a team that is young and is discovering their talent as they run from meet to meet. I believe there is more yet to be seen from Benton.
16

Vandebilt Catholic

Episcopal Round Table Run

21Vandebilt had a strong showing at the Round Table Run. This is without question better than their previous performance. Avery Morgan and Elijah Hunter look like a promising duo for this team with a third not too far back. However, the remaining two of its top five are distant from these three and the gap left between them leaves a considerable weak spot.
17

E.D. White

Episcopal Round Table Run

16E.D. White claimed 11th at this meet. The team lacked group running as shown in other teams, but it benefited from, low-stick,  Owen Tauzin. The gap between its runners is perhaps one of the largest on this list, especially for this team's level of ability. This is a liability for this team, however, at less population meet, this may not be as much of a problem.
18

Newman

Episcopal Round Table Run

NRNewman had a standout race this past weekend. This team may not have the fastest of runners on the guys' side, but they still managed to take away the 13th place finish as a team and also claim a spot on our rankings.
19

David Thibodaux STEM Academy

Sargent Memorial19STEM Academy keeps up the hot streak after finishing 5th at St. Michael last week by winning a meet of their own. Though this is a great performance by itself, the team did not manage to climb the rankings due to other schools making an appearance for the first time. However, this does not take away how well this team has come together.
20

Holy Cross

No Race9
21

Mandeville

Episcopal Round Table Run

22The Skippers greatly improved from their last performance and look to be on a strong upward trend. Max Jacketti stepped up and led the way with one of his best performances ever. The team looks to be coming together but we will just have to wait and see if this trend continues to hold. From what can be seen Mandeville is creating a closely-knit team.
22

St. Martin's Episcopal

Episcopal Round Table Run

23St. Martin's managed to barely hold off Dutchtown this weekend to secure 14th at the Round Table Run. This team has the potential to be good. The separation between its top three runners is not great but is always able to shrink through efforts of pack running.
23

Dutchtown

Episcopal Round Table Run

NRDutchtown made a surprising appearance on this list with a hard-fought battle against St. Martin's. This team is composed of solely underclassmen, so if this is their floor, it's a great place to be. The potential for growth with this team is beyond great and if the team has the desire for it, the setup for a dominant program in the future is all within grasp.
24

St. Paul's School

Episcopal Round Table Run

12St. Paul's didn't have the best of performances this past weekend. Taking a beating from schools that they had the potential to overcome. This very well could be the beginning of the season strategies for the program, and even if it was an off performance, the season is still young and not lost to this team.
25

Hahnville

Episcopal Round Table Run

27Hahnville took home a 19th place finish, but to be competitive later on in the season, we will have to see some improvement among these athletes.
26

Archbishop Shaw

St. Michael Bayou Boogie

28
27

Baton Rouge High

Episcopal Round Table Run

NRBaton Rouge develops a spot on this list after showing off their low-stick, Ralston Graves. Graves gives this team a chance to compete among other large-name schools, however, his performance only compensates for his teammates that float far behind.
28

Belle Chasse

Episcopal Round Table Run

NRBelle Chasse had a similar case to Baton Rouge High. The team had the top runner of the day with Drake Breland. His performance was just 0.2 away from the state lead, set on the same day at a different meet. The team also had another top ten finisher with Jace Luckoski.
29

D'arbonne Woods

The Border Dash

18D'Arbonne could have had a stronger performance at the Border Dash. The team was led by Trent Futch, but he was left alone instead of being accompanied by his two teammates, Eric Ramsey and Chris Velasquez. This was the team's strength that it relied on so heavily last year, but without the synergy between these three, the team will have a much harder time standing a chance against more talented teams.
30

Erath

Sargent Memorial

NRErath took second at the Sargent Memorial after placing two of their runners within the top ten.

Just Missed: Pineville, St. Thomas More, Central - Baton Rouge
