1

Ruston

The Opener

1The Lady Bearcats will run Saturday at the Warhawk Invitational.
2

St. Joseph's Academy

Episcopal Round Table Run

2St. Jo's really flaunted their distance ability with four girls within the top ten as well as winning the meet with ease. It is still hard to say which is greater, Ruston or St. Jo, all there is to know is that these are two of the best teams in the state. The performance put out by St. Jo's this weekend is astonishing, to say the least.
3

Episcopal

Episcopal Round Table Run

3Episcopal truly holds the future in the eyes of the youth. The Knights took second behind St. Joseph's and their top five runners were almost entirely middle schoolers. Not to mention the victorious efforts of Lucy and Molly Cramer. This followed up by Anna Kurz is a tough trio to beat.
4

E.D. White

Episcopal Round Table Run

23E.D. White shoots through the rankings after toppling teams thought to be out of their reach. The team was held together by a pack of four runners only separated by about 30 seconds!. It's hard to find a pack running effort like that anywhere else.
5

Mt. Carmel

Episcopal Round Table Run

5Mt. Carmel's effort at this meet looked like it was more strategic rather than competitive. Stella Junius had yet another stellar performance and her teammates were all together as a pack with only a mere 10 seconds between the five of them. Not to mention a missing member of the team, Lucy Quintana.
6

Dominican

No Race4
7

Vandebilt Catholic

Episcopal Round Table Run

6Vandebilt Catholic took 4th at the Round Table Run, but not everything was as it seemed. There was a distinct absence of Brynn Kelso. Despite not having its traditional top runner, the team still fared well, boasting season bests.
8

St. Thomas Aquinas

Mobile Meet of Champions10
9

University Lab School

Episcopal Round Table Run

11University Lab took 6th place after an incredible pack running effort. The team only had a mere 59 seconds between its first and fifth girl which is impressive, to say the least. Caroline Cain led the charge, closely followed by Cate Williamson.
10

St. Martin's Episcopal

Episcopal Round Table Run

21St. Martin's is making a return after its initial dip in the rankings. This small school beat out many opponents much larger in size compared to them. This young team took 7th place out of this stacked field and was mainly able to accomplish this through its top three runners.
11

ARCA

Sargent Memorial20ARCA has been right on top of St. Martin's, this time they trail but by such a small amount. What they DID manage to accomplish was winning their second meet in a row. This is not an easy feat but it is mostly made possible due to a pack of their third, fourth, and fifth runners. This group finished within 5 seconds of each other.
12

Newman

Episcopal Round Table Run

9Newman took 8th after a valiant effort. Maggie Smith led the team but was relatively alone. Her closest teammate was roughly two minutes away. This is, by far, the largest problem that this team faces, being able to close the gap between its runners.
13

Benton

The Border DashNRBenton held a narrow victory over Parkway but ended up walking away with gold. Freshman Claire Allen took the individual title for her team, with Isabelle Russell coming in to secure second. Allen is just one of three impactful freshmen for this team, so the future looks promising for them. However, right now the team faces a problem with depth. Benton is quickly and widely separated when it comes to performances.
14

Walker

Episcopal Round Table Run

29Walker had its duo of Avery Guidry and Ava Pitarro lead the way. These seniors keep this team in the mix while their younger runners find their way. The team's third and fourth runners aren't too far behind, but with the connection to their fifth, that is where the team faces the most danger. It is fitting that Walker and Newman are ranked so closely together and face nearly the identical problem.
15

Dutchtown

Episcopal Round Table Run

16Dutchtown enters the mix and is perhaps the most interesting. This team is ranked very well considering how astonishing its most recent 1-5 split was. From its first to fifth, the time difference is 6:15! Isabella LeGarth led the way with an astounding PR, followed up by the 800m star, Rachel Fereday,  and continued by Isabella Latkovitch. These three make the team strong and compensate for the wide margin between them and the team's fourth and fifth runners.
16

St. Scholastica

Episcopal Round Table Run

17St. Scholastica landed themselves at 11th this past weekend and was led by a veteran and a rookie. Maggie and Elaine Oggs led the way and were followed close behind by their remaining three runners to close out the top five. The gap between all of them is approximately a minute. The pack running aspect of this team is perfect. It's exactly what they need to be as impactful as possible. The only thing that this team needs to work on now is just improving times.
17

St. Thomas More

Sargent Memorial

NRSt. Thomas More took silver at the Sargent Memorial behind ARCA. The team benefited from its low-stick of Ellie Bond. She will make an impact on any course, which is why St. Thomas now appears on this ranking. Though a low-stick is crucial for any competitive team, St. Thomas More also leaves plenty of room between its athletes.
18

Parkview Baptist

Episcopal Round Table Run

18Parkview Baptist finished at a respectable 12th place. Senior Grace Pepitone and middle schooler Brynlie Monistere take on the roles of this team's front runners while its third and fourth runners work together in an effort to pack run.
19

Parkway High School

The Border Dash

13Parkway took its first attempt at three miles after racing 4k at The Opener. The team narrowly took second place to Benton and had an applaudable effort by Cheyenne Olson and Ember Pierce to take to the front and run together. The downside to this team is that the follow up on those two was not necessarily quick. Parkway's third runner came in roughly two minutes after Pierce had crossed the line.
20

C.E. Byrd

The Border Dash

7Byrd performed with a handicap this past weekend, missing Jenna Key and Hudson Roberts. They will return at the next site of competition, but for this meet, Byrd performed well over the opposing teams. The team placed 3rd overall Mallory Swint taking charge.
21

Teurlings Catholic

Episcopal Round Table Run

12Teurlings capitalized on the performance of Angelle Dupuis and her 15th-place finish. Dupuis was, by far, by herself in terms of having a teammate to run with. Her next teammate came in approximately two and a half minutes behind her. This needs to be said to point out Teurlings' weak point. The team has a strong front runner but the gap between her and the team's fifth runner is compromising for the team. Working on keeping their athletes together will prove to be an excellent asset for the team.
22

Cedar Creek

The Border Dash

8Cedar Creek took 4th, placing two runners within the top ten. The same can be said about Cedar Creek as was said for Teurlings Catholic. The gap between its frontrunners and its fifth-man is a liability for the team. If there were a strategy to beat Cedar Creek. It would be to capitalize on this space between its runners.
23

St. Fredrick

Choudrant Aggie Invitational14
24

Christ Episcopal School

Episcopal Round Table Run

15Christ Episcopal did compete, however, it did not have enough athletes to qualify as a team. It ran a combination of Noah Watson, Addie Lee, and Myrina Brown. These three ran well, but it appears that Christ Episcopal just doesn't have the numbers at the moment.
25

St. Michael

Episcopal Round Table Run

22St. Michael took home a 14th place finish at the Round Table run. The team was led by Sayla Fogos with Natalie Bauder about a minute behind her. This is a very spread-out team when it comes to the analysis of its top five, however, they were on par with Teurlings this past meet. They were just a hair off of them when it came down to the team scores.
26

Belle Chasse

Episcopal Round Table Run

NRBelle Chasse came through behind St. Michael but the greatest advantage that they held over them was their string of three front runners. However, the drop-off from that point to the team's fourth and fifth is significant.
27

Ponchatoula

Episcopal Round Table Run

27Ponchatoula is yet another spread-out team that is definitely missing the talents of Marley Richard. Without her the team is not in the same place that it was.
28

Erath

Sargent Memorial

NRErath took 3rd at the Sargent Memorial and proved its ability to run as a pack. If you look at the results you can see the groups of two that these girls formed and it's clearly paying off for them.
29

Episcopal of Acadiana

Gulf Coast Stampede24Acadiana traveled to Pensacola, FL, and placed 19th out of a loaded field. The team was led by sophomore Bailey Guillotte and was followed up by a pack of three. This is Acadiana's greatest strength when running against other teams. Guillotte's ability to be a front runner accommodates for their fifth and allows the team to average out how their middle three girls perform. In other words, just look to see how that pack in the middle runs to see the outcome of this team's race.
30

Denham Springs High

Episcopal Round Table Run

NRDenham Springs may not be the fastest team but they certainly have a group of girls that can cross the line together. What is meant to be said here is that this team has a 1-5 split of just 55 seconds. This small of a split is essential to the building of a faster team.

Just Missed: Ascension Episcopal, Holy Savior Menard, and St. Louis High
