The Division II boys programs showed some favoritism when it came to the sprints, but the title for the best sprints programs eventually came down to the relays.
West Feliciana - 19pts
This team consisted of three individuals that scored the entirety of its team's points. Among these were Orlando Harris, Caleb Johnson, and Imani Coleman. Orlando Harris managed to qualify to the finals of the 60m dash and finished within scoring range. His teammate, Caleb Johnson did the same in the 60m hurdles, except he narrowly landed on the podium with his second-place finish.
Imani Coleman was the only individual in the 400m to run sub-50 seconds, which led him to walk away with the title. He was the highest scorer on his team, next to Johnson. These three were the only scorers for their team and helped it rank 8th among everyone else at the state meet.
Mansfield - 22pts
Mansfield's success primarily comes from a team standpoint. They had two individuals that were able to score a significant amount of points, but it came down to the 4x200m and helped them secure their 5th place team ranking. On the individual side, Jaden Youngblood was a pivotal point for their team as he won the 60m hurdles handily.
Another pivotal character in their success was Kedarious Terrell. He placed 5th in the 400m and anchored the fastest leg on their team's 4x200m to secure the win.
Lake Charles College Prep - 28pts
Lake Charles was highly influential when it came to the relays. They took first and second in the 4x400m and 4x200m, further proving that track and field is more than just individual events. Among this group were runners, Jarell Joseph, Kevin Thomas, Trevonte Citizen alongside alternatives Joe Ward and Eric Belony.
Jarell Joseph also scored points in the 60m dash and the 400m. He fared similarly in both events with a fourth-place finish in the 60m and a third-place podium finish in the 400m.
Lake Charles also scored the most points out of any boys team at the state meet in the sprints, regardless of division.
