La. Club Competes At AAU XC Nationals

MEMBERS OF THE SOUTHERN ATHLETICS TEAM SMILE AFTER COMPETING AT AAU XC NATIONALS

Southern Athletics was the only team from Louisiana to score a full team at the AAU XC Nationals last weekend. The team did so in the 15-18 boys division (placing 7th overall), 15-18 girls division (placing 3rd overall and with a podium finish), and 13-14 girls division (13th overall). 

This was teams first time racing at the AAU XC Nationals. 

Individually, the highlight of the race was Grace Keene finishing 2nd overall in the girls 15-18 competition with a time of 19:21 for 5k. Also, Madison Bailey , who finished 20th overall in 20:30.

Others who competed in the girls 15-18 division included Emelia Hope  in 31st, Isabelle Breaux  in 46th, Elizabeth Flurry ( in 57th, Lillian Cooper  in 59th, Natalie Cortez in 60th, Ariel Brasseaux in 64th, Elizabeth Breaux  in 67th, Jaydin Reed  in 80th and Abney Wardle in 82nd.

On the boys side, Michael Keller  was the top finisher from the team with a time of 17:19 for 27th place. Other finishers include Jack Blanda  in 40th, Julian Lee in 42nd, Dylan Fay in 53rd, Sawyer Cook in 57th, Kadon Bolmon in 59th, Alex Babin in 62nd, and Desmond Bohacek (Northshore) in 87th.

In the 13-14 year old division, girls finishers included Peyton Piske in 64th, Cheyenne Earnest in 102nd, Harlow Waters in 144th, Molly Jeanfreau in 160th, and Samantha Jeanfreau in 182nd.

For the boys was Jaden Lee  in 94th, Noah Leblanc  in 168th, and Brayden Wardle in 204th.
In the 9-10 boys division, Zachary Jones  finished in 115th while his brother Greyson Jones finished 135th. 

Other LA athletes to compete included Hudson Cormier (83rd in 13-14 boys), Connor Uzee (163rd in 13-14 boys), Celia Adams (38th in 13-14 girls) and Kaylee McCain (122nd in 13-14 girls).
