Myles Melancon posted a win in the shot put a second straight week and Scott Brewster and Anna Katherine Devitt claimed second place in distance races as the Ragin’ Cajuns men’s and women’s track and field team opened competition in the LSU Relays at Bernie Moore Track Stadium on Friday. As a former collegiate and post-collegiate runner and through many years coaching young and older runners, two significant aspects about the coach/athlete relationship have come to the forefront. The first is that the coach must create a program, a philosophy, an environment that is conducive to success. – a process. The second is the athlete must come to wholeheartedly trust that process, without question.

SOUTH BEND, Indiana – The McNeese men's cross country team had never run in a meet here before but it's a good bet they'll leave a good impression after the Cowboys placed ninth overall in the 21-team field at the 57th Annual Notre Dame Invitational and finishing ahead of nationally ranked teams such as No. 11 North Carolina State and No. 26 Michigan and just one point shy of 29th-ranked Washington State.

Despite heavy down pours of rain during the meet, over 1000 runners battled it out on the grounds of the Port Hudson Historical Battlefield Site. A course layout for approx 75% trail, 25% open area grass quickly became standing water and heavy mud after two hours of heavy rains during the meet.

LAKE CHARLES – McNeese men's cross country team is holding steady at No. 7 in this week's USTFCCCA South Central Regional ranking while the Cowgirls have jumped into the top 15 with a ranking of 13 released by the organization this week.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - It hadn't happened for the Tulane men's cross country program in eight years, but on Saturday at the Southern Miss Dedicated Cross Country Facility when the Green Wave claimed the team title with a stout 16-point performance. The women's squad finished runner-up to the host Golden Eagles to cap the solid day on the course for the program.
