Beekman Charter Sweeps 2-2A; Delhi Charter Sweeps 4-1A!

MANGHAM'S DANTE KEYS COMPETES IN THE LONG JUMP EARLIER THIS YEAR

Delhi Charter and Beekman Charter got out the brooms on Monday to sweep their respective district meets. Beekman Charter girls and boys team swept the District 2-2A Meet while Delhi Charter took care of business in both divisions of the District 4-1A Meet.

Delhi Charter boys team, led by Keidron Thomas and Tayven Carter, scored 124 points, 31 more than runner-up Delhi. Thomas and Carter scored 15 points each. 

Thomas won the 100m (11.27) and 200m (22.79). Carter won the long (22-4.5) and triple jump (44-7). Both Thomas and Carter ran legs on Delhi Charter's winning 4x100 relay (44.20) and 4x200 relay (1:34.42). 

The Delhi Charter girls team, who was led by Natalie Clark,  scored 116 points, 64 points more than runner-up Delhi. 

Clark scored 15 points by winning the 100m hurdles (19.75) and 300m hurdles (58.20). Clark also finished third in the 1600m (9:15.68). 

Beekman Charter boys, led by Marcus Smith's 32 points, scored 154 points, edging out runner-up by Rayville by five points.

Smith won the 110m hurdles (17.72) and 300m hurdles (43.88). Smith also won the javelin (147-11) and ran a leg on Beekman Charter's runner-up 4x400 relay (3:53.22).

The Beekman Charter girls scored 136.5 points, 26.5 points more than host Mangham. The team was led by LA Madison Cooper and Antoinette Byas.

Cooper, who won the triple jump with a 31-6, scored 20 points. She also finished second in the high jump (4-6) and fifth in the javelin (56-0). 

Ferriday's Zaria Boxley scored more points than any other athlete. Boxley won the 100m (13.12), 200m (26.95), and long jump (17-0). Boxley also ran a leg on Ferriday's winning 4x100 relay (51.51).
