DENTON, Texas - Paul Sakit finished 15th overall to help lead the Louisiana Tech men’s cross country team to an eighth place finish at the Conference USA Championships on Saturday morning in Denton, Texas.

NATCHITOCHES, La. - Mary Kate Hays recorded her third consecutive top-five finish as she led the Louisiana Tech women’s cross country team to a fifth place finish Saturday morning at the Demon Invitational.

LA Tech finished one spot ahead of LSU and three spots ahead of TCU in the challenging meet that featured 14 teams and 326 runners overall.

LAKE CHARLES, La. - Junior Paul Sakit recorded his second consecutive top 10 finish in anchoring the Louisiana Tech men’s cross country team to a third place finish at the Cowboy Stampede in Lake Charles on Saturday morning.

RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech’s Paul Sakit won an individual crown Saturday as Louisiana Tech hosted the Mook 5 Invitational to open the 2013 season.

The Louisiana Tech men’s and women’s cross country teams opened the 2012 season Saturday as they hosted the annual Mook 4 meet at Lincoln Parish Park in Ruston. Competing teams included: Northwestern, Texas Arlington, Grambling, LeTourneau College, Alcorn State, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Jackson State and Mississippi Valley State.   

DES MOINES, Iowa - For a stellar collegiate career that was spent primarily setting records, Chelsea Hayes closed it on a disappointing note. Still, finishing seventh in the nation in her second-best event is a pretty good result, even if it was disappointing only to her.

BOISE, Idaho - In the final indoor track and field competition of her career, Chelsea Hayes grabbed a pair of All-America honors and finished second in the long jump at the 2012 NCAA Indoor Championships at Jacksons Track in Boise Friday evening.
