The reigning Conference USA runner of the week followed up a first place finish last weekend at LA Tech’s home meet with another impressive run, finishing the four-mile course with a time of 20:23 to pace the squad with a ninth place finish.
Following closely behind Sakit were Tom Stringer, Anthony Plourde and Taylor Ashton who finished with times of 20:55, 20:55, and 20:57, respectively. All three Bulldogs finished back-to-back-to-back placing 17th, 18th and 19th helping to secure the third place team finish.
Wrapping up the scoring for Tech was Tor Gatch who finished with a time of 22:13.
“I thought the two freshmen ran well, but I was disappointed in the juniors as I thought they could have raced harder,” head coach Gary Stanley said.
Next up for the men’s cross country team will be a trip to Fayetteville, Arkansas next Saturday to compete in the Chile Pepper Festival.
