STA-TA S&S Sports CC Invite Recap

 

First Baptist second grader was the individual winner in the Sub-Elementary girls division(2nd-below) of Thursday’s STA-Trafton S & S Sports Cross Country Invitational with a 800 meter winning time of (3:39), while St. Joseph’s Marley Richard led the way as the top local runner at the third position with a time of(3:47),  Sumner’s Molly Blades was seventh(4:07),  Holy Ghost’s Sophie Geisler placed eighth(4:07), Holden’s Kacey Brethaupt was ninth(4:16),  Trafton’s Evyn Schiro was 16th(4:32) and Hammond Westside’s Anna Richardson was 26th(5:11).  Christ Episcopal earned the team trophy with (26),  Holden was second(43)  and Jewel Sumner third(58).  

Holden second grader Jake Forbes led the way in the Sub-Elementary division with an individual win in (3:10),  while St. Joseph’s Carson Thibodeaux was second(3:19),  Trafton’s Reid Williams was sixth(3:48),  Sumner’s Ethan Landers was ninth(4:01) and Cade Vinyard from Hammond Westside was 24th(6:21).  Holy Ghost’s Brody Doan was seventh(3:52) to lead the HGS Patriots to a perfect team score of (15) to claim the team title. HGS’s Adam Bondurant was 11th(4:10),  Bryce Beard was 12th (4:10),  Jackson Jones was 13th(4:14) and Evan Hallmark was 14th(4:24).  

Trafton’s fourth grader Madelyn Nicaud led the way to a 1-4 finish for the Lady Eagles to capture the individual title in the Elementary girls(3rd-4th) with a winning time of(7:04).  HGS’s Hannah Lyons posted a fifth place finish in (7:22),  St. Jo’s Jadyn Richard was 11th(8:26),  Sumner’s Abby Bracy was 17th(9:23),  Holden’s Megan Brethaupt was 21st(10:23) and Hammond’s Kalyn Allemond was 25th(10:56).  Nicaud led the way for the Trafton girls , while Olivia Rainey was second(7:14), Jourdan St. Romain third(7:15),  Presley Walls fourth(7:19),  Jada Clark seventh(8:03),  Abbie Parrish eighth(8:08),  Caroline Eschete tenth(8:12),  Mary Mayeaux 13th(8:59)  and Madeline Quesada 14th(9:00) to win the team title with a perfect score of (15),  Lake Castle was second(60) and Holden third(66).  

Christ Episcopal fourth grader Tyler Guice was the Elementary boys individual winner in (6:17) for the one mile race.  HGS’s Will Fisher was second in (6:36),  Sumner’s Kolby Sloan was fifth(7:03),  Holden’s Coley Courtney was sixth(7:04) and Trafton’s Adam Sawyer was 26th(8:31).  CES won the team title with (43),  Lake Castle was second(60),  Holy Ghost third(65),  Holden fourth(74) and Jewel Sumner fifth(109).  

St. Joseph’s sixth grader Sara Lavastida was the Middle School girls(5th-6th) champion with a winning time of (6:31),  HGS’s Isabella Jones was second(6:59),  Trafton Academy’s Abigail Bates was fourth(7:12),  Sumner’s Abby Hodges was tenth(8:16) and Hammond’s Amari Joubert was 19th(9:12),  Holden’s Samantha McNeal was 24th(9:45). The SJS girls earned the team title with a perfect score of (15) led by Lavasida’s win and Peyton LeSaicherre’s third place finish(7:10),  Paige Bankston was fifth(7:20),  Maria Guay was sixth(7:33) and Heather Habisreitinger was seventh(7:49) was too much for runner-up Jewel Sumner’s (42)  and Hammond Westside’s (69).  

St. Joseph’s sixth grader Colin Thibodeaux was the Middle School boys mile champion in (6:23),  followed by Trafton’s Mason Thompson at the second position(6:36),  Albany’s Drew Thompson was fifth(6:44),  Sumner’s Brennan Bracy was 18th(8:07),  Martha Vinyard’s Aiden Detwiller was 22nd(8:29),  Holden’s Mathew Wilder was 23rd(8:30) and Hammond’s Ymmot Jackson was 38th(12:24).  CES captured the team title(32),  Trafton Academy was second(43),  St. Joseph’s third(62), Lake Castle fourth(84)  and Jewel Sumner fifth(105).        

Trafton Academy eighth grader Meghan Becerra led the way in the Junior High girls division with an individual win in (13:28) for the two mile race.  Sumner’s Emma McDonald placed eighth(16:37),  Holden’s Kaitlyn Kropog was ninth(16:45),  Hammond High Magnet School’s Sarah Alford was eleventh(17:55) and HGS’s Ella Frasier was 15th(20:03).  Becerra led Trafton girls to a team victory that put seven runners in the top ten positions,  Emma Littell was second(14:13),  Maggie Crawford third(14:31),  Breanna Becerra fourth(14:33),  Abaigail Bates fifth(15:14),  Annie Walls seventh(15:23) and Presley Walls was tenth(16:52) for the Lady Eagles perfect team score of (15),  St. Helena Central MS was second with (50).  

Trafton’s  eighth grader Eric Coston was the JH boys individual champion in (10:38),  while Sumner’s Austin James was second(13:06) and Holden’s Jake Forbes was 20th(18:06).  Jewel Sumner captured the team title with (24),  CES was second(41),  PCA third(66)  and St. Helena Central fourth(105).  James led the Sumner boys,  while teammates Jonathan Allen was sixth(15:12),  Cariones Coleman ninth(15:33),  Joey Edwards tenth(15:38) and Sidney Polecek was thirteenth(16:14).

St. Thomas Aquinas Freshman Chelsey Jones captured the individual win in the JV girls division with a winning two mile time of (12:46),  Sumner’s Scotti Dykes was second(14:25),  Holden’s Kyleigh George was tenth(17:53) and Ponchatoula’s Lacie Woodall was eleventh(18:37).  The Jewel Sumner girls edged-out the STA girls 29-31,  while Ponchatoula High was third(65).  Dykes led the Cowgirls, while Breonne Williams was third(14:58),  Avelina Trout was fourth(15:37),  Harley Menard fifth(15:42) and Destiny Barnett was 16th(19:45).

Mandeville’s Nick Gilbert earned the individual win in the JV boys race with a two mile time of (12:25).  St. Thomas Aquinas sophomore Adam Dibenedetto placed second(12:31),  Sumner’s Auastin Ballow was third(12:40),  PHS’s Nicholas Randazzo was seventh(13:25) and Holden’s Zach Addison placed eighth(13:36). The STA boys captured the team title(31),  Mandeville was second(55),  Jewel Sumner third(55) and Ponchatoula fourth(83).  Dibenedetto led the Falcons,  while teammates Dominick Schiro was fourth(12:59),  Nick Gagliano sixth(13:25),  Branson Stephens ninth(13:36) and Bryon Garrity was twelfth(13:54).  

First Baptist Freshman Gabrielle Jennings captured the Varsity girls three mile race with a winning time of (18:24) over Mandeville High freshman Olivia Murpy who placed second(19:26).  Holden’s Clarissa Smith was third(19:35),  while STA’s Bobbi Amar placed fifth(20:48) and PHS’s Jenna Reno was ninth(22:12).  The STA girls captured the team title with (16) and Ponchatoula High was second with (47).  Amar led the STA girls, while freshman Destiny Williams was sixth(21:25),  Grace Bernard was seventh(22:10),  Elena Wisecarver eighth(22:10),  Taylor Kast was tenth(22:42),  freshman Reagan Greer was eleventh(23:01),  Rachel Greer was twelfth(23:32)  and Sara Gambel was 13th(24:08). 

STA’s Tommy Brocato captured the Varsity boys three mile race title in (16:45),  while PHS’s Lane Perilloux was sixth(17:53) and Holden’s Tyler Hampton was 20th(20:20).  The STA boys won the team title with (23),  Ponchatoula was second(44),  Mandeville was third(58)  and PCA was fourth(100).  The STA boys were powered by Brocato’s win with great efforts by runner-up Craig Rock(17:05),  third place finisher Ben Schnadelbach(17:15),  Andrew Jordan was fifth(17:46) and Dylan Crossie was twelfth(19:06).
