BATON ROUGE – Sophomore Bethany Burst finished with a season-best time in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase at the LSU Alumni Gold and three other season-high marks were set by Southeastern athletes.
Burst finished fifth (12:06.67), besting the mark she set just over a month ago at the Louisiana Classics.
Judith Schultheis finished third in the women's 400 meter hurdles (1:00.15). On the men's side season highs were set by Mason McGee in the javelin throw (193-03) and by Michael Rheams in the long jump (24-03.75).
Lions Seth Cunningham (1:55.30) and Shaquille Brown (1:55.83) had the second and third best times in the 800 meter run. Freshman Tarvoris Mack (55.79) finished fourth in the 400 meter hurdles and Kovey Simmons (17-00.25) finished fourth in the pole vault.
On the women's side Naomi Jeruto finished third in the 5000 meter run (19:45.78) and Heather Fitzhenry ran the fourth-best time in the 1500 meter run (4:55.21). Schultheis also finished fourth (14.20) in the 100 meter hurdles.
