The Ragin' Cajuns track and field team had another solid outing this weekend, dominating the shot put on the men's side at the South Alabama Invitational. Cajun athletes occupied the top three spots in the shot put as Albert Fornette came in first place with a toss of 15.71 meters. In second was Tyler Guidry with a distance of 15.30 meters and Myles Melancon with a distance of 14.92 meters. Both the men's and women's teams faired well in the javelin throw as Casey Comeaux came in first with a distance of 59.58 meters, while Kirsten Meche picked up a second-place finish in the women's javelin throw with a distance of 43.69 meters. In track events Zach France won first place in the men's 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:44.25. Deanna Alfred took home second place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.07. She was followed closely by Alexis Malone, who took home third place with a time of 12.27. Louis Stevens scored a second-place victory in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.51.
