Below, you will find this week's ballot for MileSplit LA Boys' Performer Of The Week. Congratulations to all of the finalists. The winner will advance to make the ballot for MileSplit LA Boys Outdoor Athlete Of The Year. This poll will close on Saturday at 9pm.
KADEN ADAMS (CENTRAL LAFOURCHE)--Broke the school record in the shot put with a throw of 58-3.5 at the Tarpon Relays. It's the No.1 throw in Louisiana this year. Adams also finished second in the discus with a throw of 141-11.
JADEN YOUNGBLOOD (MANSFIELD)--Overcame a disappointing runner-up finish in the 110m hurdles to win the the 300m hurdles with a state-leading 39.06 at Mansfield's home meet last Thursday. That's the No. 1 time in Louisiana. His time in the 110m hurdles--14.35--is second only to Airline's Zion Smith (14.02).
AIDEN MONISTERE (PARKVIEW BAPTIST)--Showed up and showed out in Boston this weekend at the New Balance Indoor Nationals. Monistere scored runner-up performances in both the mile (4:06.31) and the two mile (8:46.78). Both times are personal records and All-Time LA#1 performances.
BLAKE GUIDRY (E.D. WHITE)-- Joined the 15-0 club with the Cardinal Relays. He is only the second jumper in Louisiana to vault that high during the first two weeks of the La. HS season. The only jumper to go higher is Benton's Miller Malley (15-6).
CHANNING BERARD (TEURLINGS CATHOLIC)-- Won the javelin at the Pat Arceneaux Relays with a throw of 178-0. That throw ranks No. 6 in Louisiana.
CARTER RIVET (ALEXANDRIA)-- The Freshman Phenom from ASH put the discus up in the jet stream at the South Louisiana HS Invitational. His throw of 177-7 is 14 feet further than any freshman has thrown in Louisiana history. The former No.1 is Hunter Rivet, Carter's older brother, who is in his first year of competing for Louisiana Tech. Rivet also won the shot put with a throw of 55-1. That throw is No. 1 in the MileSplit LA database, but that database does not include the legendary Airline shot putter Arnold Campbell, who was the LHSAA Class 4A State Championship with a throw of 58-11.25 as a freshman.
OWEN MELANCON (WESTMINSTER CHRISTIAN ACADEMY)-- After an excellent indoor season, Melancon has maintained the momentum as he won both the 1600m (4:37) and 800 (2:04) at WCA's meet-The Davis Memorial 2025.
JUSTIN LABOVE (GRAND LAKE)-- Won the javelin at the Kinder Yellow Jacket Relays with a throw of 185-5. That throw ranks No. 2 in Louisiana. Also, it's currently No. 2in the nation for the Class of 2026.
