THIS BEAR--HIGHLAND BAPTIST'S TYLER BLISSETT--WAS BAD NEWS FOR BOYS IN D5 ON MONDAY
No runners in any division have a strangle hold on the competition as much as Highland Baptist's Tyler Blissett and Christ Episcopal's Noah Watson. Both won their third consecutive state championship on Monday at the 2024 LHSAA State Cross Country Championships.
Blissett won the D5 boys by a staggering margin of 91 seconds. Watson won the D5 girls' division with a time of 19:40.
Watson was able to lead the girls' team back to the top after CES lost to Highland Baptist last year. Christ Episcopal, led by head coach Chad Hunt, scored 40 points and beat St. Martin's Episcopal by 10 points.
Coach Hunt's boys Wildcat team was able to make it a sweep as brothers Ryder Clark and Noah Clark finished in the top ten to lead their team to victory. CES scored 36 points. St. Martin's Episcopal was the runner-up in the boys' division with 76 points.
