 DAMIEN RICHARD COMPETES IN THE TRIPLE JUMP AT THE LSU LAST CHANCE MEET

Below, you will find the finalists for MileSplit LA Boys' Performer of the Week! Congratulations to the finalists for making the ballot. The poll will close on Saturday at 9pm. The winner will move on and make the ballot for MileSplit LA Boys Outdoor Athlete of the Year. 

Javonte Taylor (North DeSoto)- Led the Griffins to a victory at their home meet this past Wednesday. Had a huge PR in the triple jump where he improved to 46-2. That moves him up to No. 2 in Louisiana during the first three weeks of the outdoor season. He also won the high jump tying his season best of 6-4. He also scored a couple of points in the long jump with a personal record of 21-6.5. 

Primes Brock (C.E. Byrd) - The senior had a massive personal record of 155-4 at the North DeSoto Relays. That is 13 feet beyond his previous PR of 142-7, which he threw last summer in Euguene, Oregon at the USAT National Junior Olympics. At the North DeSoto Relays, he also had a personal record of 44-7 in the shot put which earned him a silver medal. 

Lekedrin Harvey (Dutchtown) Won the 100m (11.01) and 200m (22.55) at the Episcopal Knight Relays. 

Damien Richard(Destrehan)- The sophomore won back-to-back Field MVP awards. First, was the River Parishes Meet where he scored 20 points. Then, he won the same award at the Don Raymond Relays. His current PRs are 22-0 in the long jump and 43-7 in the triple. 

Vederek Matthews (Zachary) led his Broncos to a win at the Zachary Invitational. He won the 300m (38.19) and finished second in the 110m hurdles (14.87).  His time in the 300m hurdles is the No. 2 time in Louisiana behind Caleb Curry. 

Caleb Curry (Rummel) - Curry was a double winner at the Don Raymond Relays as he took home gold medal in both hurdle events. Curry won the 110m hurdles (15.44) and the 300m hurdles (38.18). The latter time is the No. 1 time in Louisiana. 

Jamarcus Jones (Logansport) - For the second straigh week, Jones won both the 100m and 200m. This past week, it was at the North DeSoto Relays where he ran the 100m (10.69) and then returned to win the 200m (22.05). That was a repeat of what he did at Many's Raising Cane's Small School Track Classic the week before. He is currently ranked No. 5 in Louisiana in the 100m and ranked No. 3 in the 200m. 

Travis Bolden (Hamilton Christian)- Bolden won the 100m (11.06) and the 200m (22.39) at Vinton High School's Lion Relays. Currently, he is ranked No. 20 in Louisiana in the 200m and ranked No. 32 in the 100m.
