POLL: MileSplit LA Boys' Performer Of The Week

CATHOLIC'S JUDE SCHLEGEL LEANS AT THE LINE OF THE 60m HURDLES AT THE LSU HS CLASSIC

January is now in our rearview mirror. It's February, and with each passing day we get a little closer to the LHSAA Indoor Meet, which will be held Saturday, February 21st at the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse. Here are the finalists for MileSplit LA's Week No. 4 Performer Of The Week. Congratulations to all of the finalists. The poll will close on Saturday at 9pm. The Winner will advance to the MileSplit LA Indoor Athlete Of The Year at the end of the season.

DAMIEN RICHARD II (DESTREHAN)- In his second outing of the year, Richard picked up the first win of his senior year with a jump of 22-6.50. That is just a little over an inch away from the state-leading mark.

ISAAC JOHANNSEN (ZACHARY)--Won the pole vault at the McNeese Indoor No. 2 with a personal record jump of 14-0. With the jump, Johansen moves to No. 5 in Louisiana.

CHAUNCEY WILKINS (HUNTINGTON)--The sophomore sprinter made his way through three rounds of action in the 55m at the McNeese Indoor No. 2. When the smoke cleared, Wilkins came out on top with a time of 6.61 as he edged out Airline's Braylon Bryant.

DAR'REYUS SCOTT (DENHAM SPRINGS)-- In a competition where he only got four attempts, Scott made the most of it by winning the competition with a personal record 58-0.5. On his last thrower, Scott fouled in what would have been a throw of 60 feet and some change.

TYLER BLISSETT (HIGHLAND BAPTIST)-- The senior from Highland Baptist, who will be heading to West Point to continue his career at Army, opened up his senior season with a win in the 1600m. Blissett ran a 4:20.74. That's a five-second personal record from his 4:25.13 at last year's LHSAA State Indoor Meet.

JUDE SCHLEGEL (CATHOLIC)-- Lowered his own school record in the 55m hurdles at the McNeese Indoor No. 2 and picked up his first win of his senior year by winning the event with a time of 7.93. Schlegel led an army of three Catholic hurdlers into the finals as he was joined by junior John Van Gaudiano (8.09) and Sophomore William Rudge (8.47).
