YEAR IN PICTURES: No. 5 -- Wild Hair? Don't Care!

RONDISIA WILLIAMS (LEFT) AND TRISTEN HARRIS (RIGHT) FIGHT FOR THE LINE AT STATE!

As we continue our THE YEAR IN PICTURES series today, we take a look back at the final day of the 2023 LHSAA State Outdoor Meet. It was wild! First, the weather delay. Then, you had several events being contested inside the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse due to the wet conditions on the track at Bernie Moore Stadium

Finally, you had the Class 4A girls' 100m! It was a wild finish which included some Wild hair thanks to Huntington's Rondisia Williams and West Feliciana's Tristen Harris.

Williams, who is now preparing for her first season at Colorado State University, captured her first state championship winning the 100m with a time of 11.92. Harris, who would go on to be named the Class 4A State Meet MVP, finished the race with a 11.95.

Harris will be a junior this year and has already turned in some impressive performances during the early indoor season. We cannot wait to watch her compete in the friendly confines of the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse at the LSU High School Classic. You can watch the meet LIVE on MileSplit LA on January 6

The pictured was taken by MileSplit LA's Gaven Hammond. Hammond lives in Shreveport and has been a part of the MileSplit LA Content Team for the past two years. In all, Hammond  has covered five LHSAA State Meets for MileSplit LA. When he is not taking pictures for MileSplit LA, you can find Hammond at the track assisting the Northwest Louisiana Track Officials Association.
