POLL: Vote on MileSplit LA Boys' Athlete of the Month!

LAFAYETTE'S JACKSON TOLBERT COMPETES IN THE 3200m AT THE REGION 1-5A MEET

Here are the four finalsits for MileSplit LA Boys' Athlete of the Month. They advanced to this ballot by winning MileSplit LA Boys' Performer of the Week during the month of April. This poll will be open until Saturday at 9pm. The winner of this poll will move on to the ballot of MileSplit LA Boys' Athlete of the Year. Congratulations to these four young men on a being a finalist, and thank you to all of their friends and family who have voted for them to get them to this point.

PAUL CATALANATTO (CATHOLIC)- The junior javelin thrower is ranked No.1 in Louisiana and No. 10 in the nation after his throw of 200-5 at the Region 2-5A Meet.

VEDEREK MATTHEWS (ZACHARY)- Finished fourth in both the 110m hurdles (14.56) and 300m hurdles (38.78) at the Region 2-5A Meet. That is a tough pill for Matthews to swallow after finishing third (14.40)at last year's LHSAA Class 5A State Championships. No doubt he will use the disappointment to motivate him for his senior year.

NOAH VINCENT (EPISCOPAL)- Vincent embodies everything that his La. Sports Hall of Fame  coach, Claney Duplechin, preaches. And that has been what has made Vincent Louisiana's most improved 1600m runner after not making the varsity team last year. While he will not be competing at state, Vincent ended his season ranked No. 6 in the 3200m (10:20.29) and No.18 in the 1600m (4:46.76).

JACKSON TOLBERT (LAFAYETTE)- The freshman like was the Week No. 4 winner in the MileSplit LA Boys' Performer of the Week Poll. He got there by winning the 1600m (4:53.08) and 3200m (10:52.60) at the District 3-5A Meet. Remember the name, that's all we are saying.
