Once again, RunningLane is the biggest site of team and individual competition this year. The course is hosted in Huntsville, Alabama at John Hunt Park and is designed to bring out fast times from the best talents in the nation. The course is primarily flat and kicks off with a 650m straightaway. The most challenging section is a 6% grade hill that carries on for 250m, just two miles into the race. After that, the entire last mile is essentially downhill.
As you may recall from the 2020 RunningLane National Cross Country Championships, we saw some of the fastest performances in the nation with the winner, Parker Wolfe, claiming the individual title with a 14:26 5k on the boy's side. The girl's race was a spectacle with Jenna Hutchins setting a national record of 15:58 for 5k and winning by nearly a minute.
We're here to focus on the contenders from the great state of Louisiana that will be competing in Huntsville, Alabama this weekend.
