Tulane's Rodgers Wins 55m as Tulane Indoor Track & Field Opens Season At Arkansas State Kickoff Clas

JONESBORO, Ark - The Tulane Green Wave indoor track & field season opened Saturday at the Arkansas State Kickoff Classic. Kasey Rodgers won the 55-meter dash as Tulane posted 16 top 10 finishers. There was no team scoring in the event.

Rodgers won the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.08, while Jasmine Momoh placed fourth in 7.25. Olivia Kizzee was fifth in 7.27.

Kizzee was the runner up in the 200-meter dash, turning in a 22.56 time, while Rodgers placed sixth in 26.08.

In the 400-meter, Aiesha Brooks placed third, coming in at 58.25, while Vanessa Kienast was sixth in 59.64 and Momoh came in ninth in 1:00.31. Zandria Debowles posted a 12th place finish, with a time of 1:01.18.

Tulane had two top 10 finishers in the 3,000-meter run, as Jessica Dallager was ninth (11:58.62) and Caitlin Hornbeck was 10th (12:05.62).

Kelly Curtis posted a mark of 1.56 meters in the high jump, for fifth, while Arielle Minor came in sixth, posting the same mark in an extra attempt. Minor added a 11.08 distance in the shot put, finishing fourth in that event.

Nicolette Taku was sixth in the long jump finals, with a distance of 5.42 meters. Brree Carter was seventh with a final jump of 5.24 meters. Taku also placed fourth in the triple-jump, at 11.30 meters.

Katarina Busljeta was fourth in the weight throw, tossing the rock 15.17 meters.

The Green Wave will be off the rest of December as the indoor season continues on January 16 at the Air Force All-Comers Invitational in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
