WASHINGTON AND CULVER COMPETE AT JUNIOR NATIONALS

INDIANAPOLIS --- ULM sophomore Natasha Washington finished 16th in the women's triple jump, while freshman-to-be Brittany Culver finished 16th in the women's 100-meter hurdles at the USA Junior National Track & Field Championships over the weekend in Indianapolis.

Washington, from DeRidder, La., jumped 37' 6.75" against a strong field. Culver, running for the Dallas Gold Track Club, ran a time of 14.89 in the hurdles.

In other news out of Indianapolis over the weekend, ULM alum Breaux Greer set a new American record in the men's javelin at the AT&T USA Track & Field Championships with a throw of 299' 6". Greer, competing for adidas, won his eighth consecutive national title in the event while breaking his own record that he had set a month ago at the adidas Track Classic with a throw of 297' 7". It is the fourth time in his career he has broken the American record.
