Three Loyola Runners Compete at NAIA National Championships

Louisville, Ky.- Three Loyola cross country athletes competed at the 2006 NAIA National Championships on Saturday at E.P. Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky.


In the men's division, Matt Cagigal was the first Loyola athlete across the line. The junior from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, completed the 8,000 meter course in a time of 26:57.45. He finished in 137th place out of 255 competitors. It was Cagigal's third sub 27 minute 8,000 meter of the season. It was also his third time competing in the NAIA National Championships.


Richard Bouckaert, a junior from Omaha, Nebraska, finished in 188th place. He completed the course in 27:32.10. It was Bouckaert's second appearance in the NAIA National Championships.


Mary Erin Imwalle was the lone Wolfpack female competitor. The Mobile, Alabama, native completed the 5,000 meter women's course in a time of 21:43.45. It was Imwalle's second appearance in the NAIA National Championships.
