This weekend will see many of the top teams field full squads. With a later start to the season than in past years, this weekend will be first test for many of the top teams in head to head competition. The headlining meet this weekend will be the Episcopal Round Table Run. Highland Park in Baton Rouge will see the boys #1,2,5,6,7,and 8th ranked as well as the girls #2,3,8, and 10th ranked teams toe the line together to determine rights on the field.
Elsewhere, West Monroe and Parkway will be opening the seasons at the Calvary Baptist Invite in Shreveport. Teams around the state will be watching to see what they have, as they are seated high in the rankings. Many wonder if they will move up, others drop down..
At the Newman Invite girl's Fontainbleau(LA #1) and Mandeville(LA #6) will be attendance. In City Park at the Mt. Carmel Invite, Mt. Carmel girls (LA #4) will be trying to win their home meet while SSA(LA #9) and their stock of "stud" freshman will be trying to gain a presence on the XC field.
It looks to be an interesting weekend: upsets & fast times are bound to happen as the teams spike it up and head for the courses...
