HOUSTON – Winning the men's 4x400 meter relay race highlighted Northwestern State's participation in Saturday's Houston Indoor Invitational track and field meet.

The competition was NSU's final action before the Feb. 17-18 Southland Conference Indoor Championships to be held in the same venue, the Bill Yeoman Fieldhouse at the University of Houton.

The Demons' relay team ran a 3:19.00, not a season-best, to edge Prairie View (3:19.31) and Houston (3:19.88). The win was the best of 12 top 10 finishes by Northwestern competitors.

Demons freshman Terry Long took third in the high jump, clearing 6-8. Teammate Derrion Harris was eighth with a 6-6 clearance. Long was also fifth in the men's triple jump (46-10, third best by an SLC competitor this season).
