Presentation of Signees

McNeese State track and field coach Brendon Gilroy announced the signing of eight student athletes on Wednesday, four who are now members of the team and four who will join the team in the fall.

"I expect each one of these athletes to come in and make a contribution to our program," said Gilroy.  "Six of them are distance runners, one is a hurdler and one a sprinter."

Athletes who are in school now are freshman hurdler Jasmine George from Higgins High of New Orleans, freshman distance runner Alex Kiptoo of Kenya, sophomore sprinter Marissa Sanders, a transfer from Southern Connecticut, and sophomore distance runner Amy Talbot, a transfer from John Moore University of Liverpool, England.

Freshmen who will enroll in the fall are Lauren Cooper of Tucson, AZ, Taylor De La Rosa of Mission, TX, Kaitlyn Jeter of Benton, LA and Corissa Storms of Redding, CA.

All four of those athletes are distance runners.
