OWEN MELANCON AND TYLER BLISSETT COMPETE AT THE 2023 LHSAA STATE XC CHAMPIONSHIPS
Here are the finalists for MileSplit LA Boys' Performer Of The Week. Congratulations to the finalists, who all won their regional last week. The winner will move on to compete for MileSplit LA Boys' XC Runner Of The Year at the end of the season. The poll will close at the end on Saturday at 9pm.
BRENNAN ROBIN (PARKWAY)- The sophomore won the D1 Region 1 Championships going away with a time of 15:16
PEYTON LEVY (WALKER)--Won the D1 Region 2 Championships with a time of 15:30.
NOAH MOONEY (BROTHER MARTIN)--Ran a season best of 15:07 to take home the D1 Region 3 Championship individual title.
JACK KELLEY (WEST OUACHITA)--The junior picked up his third win of the year by winning the D2 Region 1 Championships with a time of 15:47.
NOAH LANGE (MORGAN CITY)--After finishing third at the District 8-4A Meet, Lange bounced back to win the D2 Region 2 Championships with a personal record time of 17:16.
LUKE DAVIS (HOLY CROSS)--The sophomore won his first D2 Region 3 Championship with a time of 16:30, 19 seconds faster than his time at the same meet last year when he finished seventh.
DEACON STANTZ (ST. LOUIS HIGH)--Won the D3 Region Meet with a time of 16:07. That time is 1:17 faster than his time at the same meet and same course last year when he finished third.
AIDEN MONISTERE (PARKVIEW BAPTIST)--Won his sixth straight race with his D3 Region 2 Championship performance with a time of 15:12. Monistere's win streak started way back on September 28 when he won the Nike South Invitational.
MASLEN L'ESPERANCE (NEWMAN)--After finishing third last year, L'Esperance, won the D3 Region 3 Championships with a 16:14.
LUKE ALEXANDER (CEDAR CREEK)--The only freshman in Louisiana to win a regional race, Alexander ran a personal record 16:14 to take the D4 Region 1 Championships at Ruston's Lincoln Parish Park.
OWEN MELANCON (WESTMINSTER CHRISTIAN)-- After finishing in the top 8 in three out of four races this season, Melancon, who was the Division 5 state runner-up a year ago, won the D4 Region 2 Championships with a time of 15:38, just six seconds off of his personal record set earlier this year.
ANDERSON FRANK (EPISCOPAL OF ACADIANA)--Won the D4 Region 3 Championships with a time of 15:48.
BRANDT RACHEL (GRACE CHRISTIAN)--Won his first race of the season at the D5 Region 1 Championships with a time of 18:01.
ZEQUAN LEWIS (PLAINVIEW)--In only his second race of the season, Lewis won the D5 Region 2 Championships with a time of 16:56.
TYLER BLISSETT (HIGHLAND BAPTIST)--The two-time LHSAA State Champion won the D5 Region 3 Championships with a time of 15:28.
