POLL: Vote On The MileSplit LA Performer Of The Week!

HATHAWAY'S KAITLYN SAWYER COMES THROUGH THE LINE AT MONDAY'S LHSAA STATE XC MEET

Here are the finalists for the MileSplit LA Performer Of The Week. Each of the finalists won their division of the 2024 LHSAA State Cross Country Championships on Monday. The poll will close on Saturday at 9pm.

NOAH WATSON (CHRIST EPISCOPAL SCHOOL)-- The junior won her third consecutive state championship with a time of 19:40. She also led CES to the state championship team title. 

TYLER BLISSETT (HIGHLAND BAPTIST)--Like Watson, Blissett won his third consecutive state championsip with a time of 15:50. It was a dominant victory for Blissett who won by over 90 seconds

KAITLYN SAWYER (HATHAWAY)-- Ater finishing as the runner-up in 2023, Sawyer won her first state championship on Monday running a time of 19:06.

CHRISTIAN MYERS (METAIRIE PARK COUNTRY DAY)--Myers held off ESA's Anderson Frank winning D4 state title with a time of 15:59. Myers, who was overcome with emotion after winning, also led his MPCD Cajuns to a successful defense of their state championship and took home the school's ninth state championship trophy. 

AIDEN MONISTERE (PARKVIEW BAPTIST)--Successfully defended his state championship from a year ago by winning D3 state cross country championship by 15:04, over a minute faster than the next fastest runner in the division. The time was also a D3 course record. 

LUCY CRAMER (PARKVIEW BAPTIST)--Won the D3 girls state championship, it's her second in the last three years. He first came in 2022 when she won and led Episcopal to the state title. On Monday, she led the Eagles to the team title. 

JACKSON JARRETT (DAVID THIBODAUX STEM ACADEMY)--Used a MileSplit LA state preview article as motivation to defend his D2 state championship from a year ago. This time, Jarrett was able to lead David Thibodaux to the team title. 

CAMRYN HAIK (ST. THOMAS MORE)--Defended her state championship from a year ago. Haik ran a 18:28 and held off Emma Aldana, a seventh grader from The Willow School. 

LUCY THOMAS (BATON ROUGE)--Pulled off the upset of the day as she defeated SJA's Michelle Daigle. Thomas ran a time of 17:25, 19 seconds faster than Daigle, who was the heavy favorite going in. 

BRADY MULLEN (JESUIT)--Defended his D1 state title from a year ago by running a course record 14:44. Mullen, who committed to Harvard earlier this year, also led the Blue Jays to their fourth consecutive state championship.
