KYRON TURNER (3RD FROM LEFT) LED HAUGHTON TO A BOSSIER PARISH CHAMPIONSHIP THURSDAY
BOSSIER PARISH CHAMPIONSHIP MEET RESULTS
Championship season is quickly approaching across Louisiana. In some corners of the state, like Bossier Parish, it has started early. Last Thursday, Benton's Lady Tigers and Haughton's boys team overcame the elements to take home the hardware in an abbreviated Bossier Parish Championship Meet.
The storms which rolled through North Louisiana on Thursday forced meet management to cancel the field events.
Junior Kyron Turner led the Bucs by winning the 100m (11.75) and 200m (23.05). Other winners included senior Giovanni Musgrove (51.07) in the 400m.
Haughton Hurdler Jamarion Gray scored 18 points in the hurdles by winning the 300m hurdles (41.91) and finishing second in the 110m hurdles (16.66).
Besides Turner, Bossier's Quinton Hodge was the only other double winner in the boys division. Hodge won the 1600m (4:39) and 800m (1:58).
In the girls' division, it was Benton senior Claire Allen leading her team by winning both the 1600m (5:49) and 3200m (12:39).
Other winners for the Lady Tigers included Emerie Tanner in the 800m (2:32).
Bossier's Zamarion Carter won both the 100m hurdles (17.01) and the 300m hurdles (49.58). Carter's teammate Kaylyn Godfrey took home the gold medals in both the 100m (12.59) and 200m (26.46).
