The fastest halfmile by a McNeese State athlete this season highlighted the Cowboys and Cowgirls performance at Saturday's Fred Ducker Relays in Houston hosted by Rice University. Michael Dyer put up a 1:52.75 effort in finishing fourth in the 800 meter run and that mark was two seconds faster that his previous best. Placing eighth in the event was teammate Jordan Neil with a 1:54.9 which is a season best for him. Other top 10 efforts for the Cowboys in the meet on Saturday were a fourth place 14.51 in the high hurdles for Benjamin Reynolds and a 10th place 48.79 in the 400 meters by Torian Lindsey. The Cowgirl leader was Tinette Burger with a 4:39.45 ninth place effort in the 1500 meters. That is also Burger's fastest clocking of the season. Also for the Cowgirls, Paige Lynch ran 12.42 for ninth place in the 100 meters and she was 16th in the 200 meters at 26.02. D'Anna Lambert finished 19th in the 800 meters at 2:22.64 while Kara Slaydon was 29th at 2:32.18 and Aisling Casey was 21st in the 1500 meters are 4:51.08. For the Cowboys, Donovan Anderson was 18th in the 100 meters at 11.16 and 20th in the 200 at 22.48 and Sam Bowers ran 11.18 for 19th place in the 100 and 22.84 for 30thin the 200.
