HIGHLAND BAPTIST'S TYLER BLISSETT IS THE TOP RETURNING BOY IN LOUISIANA
It's show time for cross country runners across the state of Louisiana as the season begins with Week No. 1 later this weekend. To get fans ready for all of the action, MileSplit LA is giving fans an opportunity to decide who will be the MileSplit LA's Boys Preseason Runner Of The Year.
The ballot contains some impressive names, including the top returner from a year ago--Highland Baptist's Tyler Blissett, who is looking to put an exclamation point on an incredible high school career.
Blissett is not the only familiar name on the ballot. Parkway's Brennan Robin and Catholic's William Decuir are two juniors who have put some of the most impressive performances in Louisiana distance running history during the first two years of their high school career.
Will they continue to grow and run faster during the 2025-2026 school year? We cannot wait to find out.
Jesuit's Brady Monahan has finished as the runner up at the last two LHSAA State Cross Country Championships. He finished second to his teammate Brady Mullen in both 2024 and 2023. With Mullen off at Harvard, will Monahan take the top spot in Natchitoches in mid-November? Time will tell.
Even if you don't know all the names on the ballot, the schools represented in this poll should be no surprise. Of course there is a Ruston Bearcat (Myles Carpenter-Head), Brother Martin Crusader (Anders Maitrejean), and Benton Tiger (Brody Hutchison)
We don't know all of the answers to the questions above. What we do know is that every young man on this ballot is deserving to be a finalist for MileSplit LA Boys Preseason Runner Of The Year, and we are excited to see who the fans in Louisiana will select. This poll will close on Sunday night at 9pm.
