There has been no shortage of sprint in talent in Louisiana. The 112 sprinters below have certainly made their mark by showing an improvement over their times from last year. 
Destrehan's Phillip Wright was one of the fastest sprinters in the nation last year. He has run even faster this year. Wright's season best is 20.65--.76 faster than his best last year.
When it comes to sprinters who ran 22.50 or faster last year, Haughton's John Brown showed the most improvement. Brown has a season best of 21.09 this year. That is 1.12 faster than his season best a year ago.
Besides showing remarkable improvement, Wright and Brown have another thing in common--they struggled with injuries during the championship season in 2024. Brown pulled in the District 1-5A Meet 100m. For Wright, it was the finals of the 2024 LHSAA State Outdoor Championships when he felt a pull in his hamstring.
