TREY DETILLIER (RIGHT) COMPETES IN THE 1600m AT THE PETE BOUDREAUX INVITATIONAL
It was another exciting week of high school track and field and we have the finalists for this week's MileSplit LA Performer Of The Week. Congratulations to the finalists. The winner of this poll will advance to the ballot for MileSplit LA Boys Outdoor Athlete Of The Year ballot at the end of the season. This poll will close on Saturday at 9pm.
Brennan Robin (Parkway)--Opened up his junior outdoor campaign with a personal record 4:12.70 at the Jesuit-Sheaner Relays in Dallas. The time is the fastest time in Louisiana this year and ranks No. 11 in the nation among junior boys. The time also ranks No.4 all-time for Louisiana juniors.
Trey Detillier (Central Lafourche)- Coming off a record-breaking performance at the Pete Boudreaux Invitational where he ran a personal record 4:22.23. The time broke a school record which has been on the books for 54 years. Detillier broke Chad Lawson's record 4:25.8 that he ran to win the 1972 Class 3A state championship. Detillier returned later in the meet's 3200m to run a 10:11 and finished as the runner-up.
David Quintana (Jesuit)-- Quintana ran a 9:07.65 in the 3200m at the FSU Relays. The time is No. 1 in Louisiana this year. It ranks as the No. 4 all-time among Louisiana juniors. Only Brady Mullen, Aiden Monistere, and Jack DesRoches ran faster as juniors. Nationally, Quintana's 9:07.65 ranks No. 20 in the nation among juniors.
Elijah Parich (Catholic New Iberia)-- Jumped 17-2 in the pole vault earlier this month at the Snooks Relays. That's currently No. 2 in the nation. All-time in Louisiana, the mark is tied at No. 5. For juniors, it is No. 3 all-time in Louisiana.
William Rudge (Catholic)--Ran a 1:00 in the 400m hurdles at the FSU Relays. It ranks as the No. 35 time in the nation for sophomore boys.
Isaiah Washington (Haynesville)--Washington, who won MVP honors at his home meet, was challenged by head coach David Franklin to add his name to the record book and that's exactly what he did. Washington broke the record in the 300m hurdles with a 40.98. Washington is undefeated in the event this season with four wins under his belt. He also won the 110m hurdles (14.97) and triple jump (44-6). Washington, who will be playing football in the LSU secondary this Fall, is the defending LHSAA Class 1A state champion in both the triple jump and 110m hurdles.
Maddox Tolbert (Lafayette)- Won the Beaver Club 1600m with a time of 4:28. It's a nice way to finish a month in which he had a personal record of 9:29.07 at the Bronco Relays. Tolbert's mile time has his ranked No. 4 in Louisiana among the Class of 2028. He is the No.3 ranked sophomore in Louisiana in the 3200m.
