BATON ROUGE'S LUCY THOMAS OPENED UP HER 2025 SEASON AT THE LAST CANCE QUALIFIER

DESTINY HARRISON (LIBERTY MAGNET)-- The freshman join a couple of future SEC sprinters on the podium at the conclusion of the girls 60m finals. Her time of ____ makes her the fastest freshman in Louisiana. 

LUCY THOMAS (BATON ROUGE)-- La. HS Track and Field fans were finally able to watch Thomas compete on Saturday. It was her first competition in Louisina since winning the 2024 LHSAA D1 State Cross Country championship. Thomas finished second in the 3200m and finished fourth in the 1600m 

JOLIE JONES (BARBE)-- Jones won the competition in the girls shot put, but never got a chance to see it. On her sixth and final throw, Jones threw the shot 40-3, but her knee hyperextended and Jones fell down to the ground inside the ring. It is Jones first win of the 2025 season. 

GEORGIA THERIOT (PARKVIEW BAPTIST)--Won the girls 800m with a time of 2:19.

CIERRA CAMMON (LUTCHER)--Won the triple jump with a mark of 36-7.
