PARKWAY PANTHER BRENNAN ROBIN WASTED NO TIME IN TAKING CONTROL AT REGIONALS
Last year, former Jesuit head coach called Brother Martin's Noah Mooney the "biggest surprise" of the season as Mooney came out of nowhere to challenge Jesuit's Brady Mullen in the early stages of the 2023 LHSAA State Cross Country Championships. Mooney has continued on an upward trajectory during his senior season and turned in the fastest time in Louisiana last week, running a 15:07 at City Park on Friday to help Brother Martin defend their D1 Region 3 title.
Mooney's time was a season best and only six seconds off his personal record 15:01 at the Catholic Invitational in 2023.
24 runners across Louisiana broke the 16:00 barrier at regionals last week, and Brother Martin had four. Besides Mooney, Coach Drew Haro's team had Jack Collins (15:22), Braeden Dunne (15:46), and Anders Maitrejean (15:55).
