Aiden Monistere, Michelle Daigle take EBR Metro Titles!

The Championship season for Louisiana high school cross country rolled on Saturday with the running of the 2024 East Baton Rouge Metro Championships at Baton Rouge's Highland Road Park. It was more of the same as Parkview Baptist's Aiden Monistere (14:43) and St. Joseph's Baton Rouge Michelle Daigle (16:57) took home top honors individually just like they did earlier this season at the St Joseph's Invitational.

Monistere won by 38 seconds, with Catholic High sophomore William Decuir (15:21) finishing as the runner-up. Decuir led his Bears team to a metro championship. Catholic scored 31 points. Dutchtown, led by Mason Heffernan's (15:53) fifth place finish, was the runner-up with 68 points. 

Other scoring members of Catholic's winning team consisted of Peter Watson (15:50), Augustin Juneau (16:04), Patrick Kelly (16:08), andJonathan Thompson (16:13), all of whom finished in the top ten. 

Daigle, who beat Parkview Baptist's Molly Cramer by 24 seconds, led a Stickers team which tied Parkview Baptist with a score of 45 points. SJA gets the nod for the title with their sixth runner, Charlotte Beck (19:33) finishing in 14th place. 

Other scoring members of the St. Joseph's included Emmaline Ritter (19:09), Hope Lemoine (19:21), Melia Hooper (19:28), and Sara Pasquier (19:30).
