NEWMAN'S MASLEN L'ESPERANCE COMES THROUGH THE LINE AT THE RUSTN INVITATIONAL

Here are this week's MileSplit LA Performers Of The Week! This week, and this week only, we are combining the girls' and boys' in the same poll. The girl and boy with the most votes will still move on to make the poll at the end of the year for MileSplit LA XC Runner Of The Year. This poll will close on Saturday at 9pm.

MASON HEFFERNAN (DUTCHTOWN)-- Won the Jack Schommer Invitational at City Park in New Orleans on Saturday. Heffernan's time was 15:58.

ADELE AJMI (BEN FRANKLIN)-- Ajmi was the runner-up in the girls' division at the Jack Schommer Invitational. Her time was 19:22. Her personal record of 19:06, which she ran at the Pete Boudreaux '59 Catholic Invitational, ranks No. 8 among all freshmen in Louisiana. 

MASLEN L'ESPERANCE (NEWMAN)--L'Esperance was the runner-up at the Jack Schommer Invitational with a time of 16:18, 21 seconds off his personal record of 15:57 at the SJA Invitational. L'Esperance is looking to improve off of his tenth place finish (16:36) at the LHSAA Championships in 2023.

ELISE BARNETT (NEWMAN)--Finished fifth at the Jack Schommer Invitational with a personal record time of 20:33. Her previous best was 20:54 at the SJA Invitational. 

CHRISTIAN MYERS (METAIRIE PARK COUNTRY DAY)--Kicked off his championship season with a win at the Northshore Metro Championships on October 24. His time of 15:08 is a personal record. 

LEAH VARISCO (ACADEMY SACRED HEART-NO)--The junior successfully defended her Northshore Metro Championships with a winning time of 19:10. 

ROWAN SILK (DENHAM SPRINGS)--Silk was the runner-up to Walker's Peyton Levy at the Livingston Parish Championships. Silk's time of 16:31 was a 17-second personal record. 

EMMIE RITCHIE (E.D. WHITE)--Was the District 8-4A champion with a time of 20:01, four seconds off her personal record. Led E.D. White to a dominating, near-perfect performance. 

WILLIAM LEDET (E.D. WHITE)--The freshman won the District 8-4A Championship with a time of 17:08. Ledet ranks No. 8 among all freshmen in Louisiana with a time of 16:29 at the Pete Boudreaux '59 Catholic Invitational. 

MARLIE BELSOME (MT. CARMEL)--Belsome won the JV girls division of the Jack Schommer Invitational with a time of 22:17, 32 seconds faster than her nearest competition.
