Patrick Trainor, Morgan Tavares Win MileSplit LA POTW!

LAFAYETTE'S MORGAN TAVARES COMES THROUGH THE LINE AT THE BORDER DASH

Congratulations to Lafayette's Morgan Tavares and Brother Martin's Patrick Trainor. They are this week's MileSplit LA Performer Of The Week. Both runners will move on to make the ballot for MileSplit LA XC Runner Of The Year.

Tavares won the MileSplit LA Girls' Performer Of The Week by getting just over 45% of the vote, which was 13,680 votes. The runner-up was TeurlingS Catholic's Abigail Leger, who garnered 34.7% (10,374 votes).

In the MileSplit LA Boys Performer Of The Week poll, Brother Martin's Patrick Trainor got an incredible 72,199 votes, or 50.6%. He needed most of them as Jesuit's Connor Fanberg had a fan base which totaled 57,522 votes.

Tavares, who has had back-to-back top ten finishes, had a personal record of 19:59 at the SNL Invitational. She became the 14th freshman to break the 20:00 barrier this season.

Trainor made the poll by breaking his personal record over three miles at the Pete Boudreaux '59 Catholic Invitational. His time of 15:16 was good enough for seventh place.

It was Trainor's second top ten finish this season. His first came at the Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Mississippi at the Watson Classic. It that race, Trainor finished tenth with a time of 15:48.
