MileSplit LA's 11 Future Stars From The Bayou Boogie!

MATTIE ADAMS (141) AND OLIVIA CREWS (395) WERE TWO FR. WHO IMPRESSED AT THE BAYOU BOOGIE

St. Michael's Bayou Boogie Classic was the biggest meet in Louisiana for Week No. 1 of the La. HS cross country season. With the massive number of runners, it allowed us to create a MileSplit LA Future Star Watch List.

The list includes Mattie Adams from Central Lafourche, who Central Lafourche head coach Tex Martin said reminds him of another fabulous freshman he coached at Covenant Christian--UNO's Emma Bourg.

For part of last Saturday's race on a rain-dampened Highland Park Course, Adams was running with another freshman--St. Joseph's Olivia Crews, who is following the family tradition. Crews' mother ran cross country for St. Joseph's, Baton Rouge from 1995-1997.
