SCOTLANDVILLE'S SADE GRAY SPRINTS HER WAY TO A 60m WIN AT CARL LEWIS INVITATIONAL

Week No. 1 in the MileSplit LA Girls Performer of the Week Poll is behind us. John Curtis sophomore Addilyn Dufrene won with 36% of the vote. Now, it's time to turn our attention to Week No. 2 and to find out which of the ladies below will join Dufrene on the ballot for MileSplit LA Indoor Athlete of the Year at the end of the 2024 indoor season.

The poll will close on Saturday at 9pm.

Huntington's Demetria Harris - She opened her 2024 season on Saturday at the McNeese Indoor No. 1 Meet. In her first event, she finished second Menard's A'Shyria Burns in the long jump with a best of 17-6. But she wasn't done yet. She made her first ever appearance in the triple jump and came away with a victory and a meet record. Harris best of 37-7.50 bettered Franklin's Spring Wilson meet record of 11.30m in 2009.

Menard's A'Shyria Burns - After finishing eighth in the event at the LSU High School Classic, Burns had a big improvement in the long jump during week No.2. She beat out Harris to win the long jump with a record-breaking performance of 18-2. That erased Captain Shreve's Tia Mitchell's record of 5.52m in 2010. Burns also finished second in the 55m with a time of 7.52 and fourth in the triple (35-2).
