SADE GRAY (4) WINS HER FIRST STATE TITLE AT 2023 STATE INDOOR MEET!
Just like last year, Scotlandville's Sade Gray travelled to Houston to open her indoor season. She didn't waste any time with a statement personal record of 7.51 in the 60m, which was good enough for a silver medal on Sunday at the Fastrac Athletix HS Indoor Challenge.
Gray also ran a 24.39 in the 200m and split a 23 on her 4x200m relay, which finished with a 1:41.

She didn't just break her personal record of 7.58, which she ran in last year's final of the LHSAA State Indoor Meet to capture her first state championship. She crushed it!
The time moves her to No. 7 all-time. She moves ahead of University of Arkansas' Ariane Linton, who had several sprint battles with Gray when she was a senior at Dutchtown in 2021.

It wasn't Gray's first trip to H-town.
She took an official visit to the University of Houston, where she met legendary American sprinter Carl Lewis, who is the head track and field coach at UH.
During the visit, Lewis gave Gray some advice she can use on the track, but also gave her some pointers she can use in the classroom.
Gray will be action again this weekend at The Gallaria Games in Birmingham, AL before coming home and competing at the LSU High School Classic which will be livestream on MileSplit LA.
